Latitude 42 is owned and operated by Jason Kallen. Before founding Latitude 42 in 2009, Jason served as media director at an advertising agency where he oversaw all hospitality industry accounts. He has worked with hospitality providers in most U.S. markets as well as Canada and the Caribbean, on accounts ranging from boutique hotels to international chains and everything in between.
Jason received his B.A. Degree from the University of Michigan and his M.A. from Northwestern University – a Big Ten fan to the core. Other loves are the Blackhawks, softball, and tennis, and he could probably destroy you in Scrabble® and bowling - perhaps even at the same time.
For more than 25 years, Meighan Depke's design expertise has been drawn on by companies looking to generate attention with new branding, advertising, collateral and web sites. Meighan helps businesses understand the unique relationship between strategy and visual in both print and digital, and uses her experience to help clients communicate their message and synthesize their ideas. Meighan has worked with several award-winning Chicago area design firms including Goldsholl Design Associates, LipmanHearne and GolinHarris Public Relations. Meighan holds a BFA in Design from Ohio University where she was recognized for her outstanding design work with an invitation from The American Center for Design to present her portfolio at their Annual Membership meeting. Meighan’s work has been recognized by The Chicago Book Clinic, The American Association of Museums, Chicago Women in Publishing, American Center for Design, Nicholson Business Awards, Mead Annual Showcase, Silver Anvil and PR Week. She was a recipient of a Sappi Paper Ideas that Matter Grant for her work with Passion Works Studio.
Maureen Monroe Barron is an award-winning communications consultant and creative director, writer and art director, and a highly experienced strategist. Her experience includes local, national and international assignments – including strategic brand identity, web site design, video and broadcast television, direct mail, sales and promotion collateral, packaging, magazine and newspaper advertising. Her diverse experience include extensive work in the restaurant and hospitality sectors.
Mike Gaudreau has been a graphic design guru for over 15 years, with a niche in the hospitality realm. Specializing in marketing materials and concept design, his dedicated service and quick-turn promotional & branding work hits the mark every time.
Ryan Swanson is a graphic designer, web designer, developer, and educator. He also teaches web design in the continuing studies department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Swanson has a BFA from the Savannah College of Art, and an MFA from the School of the Art institute, and he continues to create digital art collages.
Kaara Kallen is a Chicago-based editor with a specialty on content focused on travel, the environment, and education. She has developed her expertise through a variety of exciting and creative professional roles, including classroom teacher, curriculum developer, project manager, editorial director, event host and facilitator, and performing artist. Kaara is the founder of the Chicago-based education-ideas forum H.e.a.r. Chicago Talk and writes regularly about teaching and learning on her blog, E.a.r. to the Ground, and she is a co-founding director of dance troupe the Revelettes.
